When did you learn being seen wasn’t safe?
When did you learn being recognized in a crowd meant being punished?
When did you start hiding?
When did you shrink into a wallflower?
Sometimes it’s a trigger in this life that your soul recognizes as a danger from another life. Sometimes the time you remember in this life doesn’t seem like it could have been enough to send you into the shadows, but that might have been the...
"Patience is a virtue...that I just don't have." I've said so many times throughout my life - ever since I was a young child!
My mum had the virtues book when I was young and I clearly remember it "randomly" being left open to both Patience and Tact on many occasions. We can talk about Tact another time ;)
I always joked with her that "patience was a virtue that I just didn't have". And I was perfectly fine with that!
To me, patience...
I have a lot of thoughts on what's going on right now regarding Hollywood and the overall shifts happening in our culture.
Firstly, I'd like to state that I feel empathy and compassion for everyone who has ever experienced harassment, abuse, or discrimination on any grounds! I send you nothing but love.
Also, I'd like to preface this by saying that in no way do I condone harassment, abuse, or discrimination for any reason.

Disclaimer: I felt called to write this post. This is my niche! I love making these lessons feel accessible! I love the idea that you can create your life, no matter what your background and past experiences are! That said, I am feeling incredibly fearful of actually posting this because I don't want to lead people down a path they don't know how to get out of. Please, listen to your inner knowing. You know yourself better than anyone....
Do you also experience this? When you get super excited about something, then you get in your own way!?
You know that you're in your way.
You know that you're making excuses or blowing up the challenge.
You know that the next step is just to take a step!
Yet, that deceptively friendly voice inside your head starts to question your big goals. And you listen. Because you always have. It's easy. It's habit. You may not even know that...
I had a strange experience on Sunday evening.
I went to an event and the audience was asked to participate by sharing what we hoped to get out of the evening. The group seemed pretty quiet, but a few brave people shared. The facilitator of the event wanted a little more. The energy of the room was tense and apprehensive. I realized that no one else was going to share, so I put my hand up.
When I stood up to share, I caught the energy of...
Do you play small? I certainly do.
What is that!? Why is that? Doesn’t that seem counter-intuitive? And yet, we all seem to have this same disposition/fear/shared consciousness.
This is a cliché question, but, for real: What would you do if you knew you wouldn’t fail? Put differently:
What would you do if you didn’t limit your potential? What would you do if you weren’t afraid of your light?
As humans, we’re really good when we’re in control, but what happens if something changes that’s out of your control, or what happens when you have to make a decision with your best knowledge in that moment without any time to really think about it?
There’s a yoga sutra that pulled itself into my consciousness this week:
Te prati prasava heyah suksmah.
“When you think you have it under control, you had...
